Praise HIM
I really want to thank God for blessing me with a choice.
One where i can choose which tertiary i want to study at.
I remembered blogging about how enticing NTU's courses were, especially the combination of Economics and Mass Communications. PLUS, DIRECT HONOURS!! How rosey.
Now, NUS has sent me a letter.
I can choose between FASS and HSS.
Generally, I feel that NUS is a more wholistic institution, be it academically or its campus life.
The only thing that is holding me back is whether I can take Economics at FASS since the rule is that I've gotta try my hands at different subjects in the first academic year. In addition, there's NO DIRECT HONOURS.
Which should i choose??
URGH.

Haha.. since I am a NUS student, i can give u more insights to how it really works in here.
Well, NUS can offer you holistic education is because it needs you to try different sub in ur acedemic years. actually, the diff subs rites, you don't have to do all of them in your 1st year. you cal do them ANY TIME in your 3 or 4 yrs of education.
I was very glad that I am allowed to try and then choose. Because, I wanted to do philosphy rem? then i done badly on it. So, luckily, i can try other subs beforfe choosing the one which i really think is suitable for me. You can never be too sure until you try. so the 1st sem, people takes these mods because it is the easiest to score.
But if you are bent of taking Econs as major, don't worry. You can take ALL econs modules that semester. But taking all econs mods in 1 sem is also quite crazy. cause u will be saturated. Even in NTU, Electives are also compulsory and people take a mixture of their maj mod and electives every semester to lessen their stress.
It doesn't matter on the results you score in order to choose to do a certain Major. It all depends on how many Modules you choose to do. as long as you have fulfil the number of modules to make that subj a major. So DON"T WORRY! haha.. I also thought that last time, but its all bull shit la. I am just glad I chose NUS instead of NTU. Cause I cannot imagine if I was not allowed to change my major.
About DIRECT HONOURS. erm.. even in NTU, you have direct honours, but your grades are not good, your degree will also don't have the word "HONOURS". I am not saying that your grades won't be good! I am just saying that if you can score well in NTU to get the HONOURS, you can surely do that in NUS too.
PLUS! you can take law electives for fun. haha. just as NTU can give you mass comm electives, we can give you law electives. and we actually have mass comm electives too in FASS.
NUS really gives you more choice. and if in the 3 years of education your realised that you don't want to do just Econs, you can Share Major. I think NTU don't offer that. That means you have 2 majors but its still 1 degree. It just expand your field la.
We also have DOUBLE degree in law and econs. If you prove in your 1st sem that you are good enough for law, you are qualified.
woa! u can be NUS' ambassador!
thanks man! im so much more enlightened.
