Childhood memories

Reading Keith's latest post makes me reflect on my childhood days......
Those were the days where I could prance around in my singlet and em, ya, panties.
Haha.

Por por used to tie my hair in a bunch that would end up 'standing' on the top of my head. I used to call it a 'coconut tree' =P So por por would always call for me and go '恩啊,来绑coconut'. Heehee. And i would happily skip towards her where she'd tie my hair with the red rubber bands that would make my scalp hurt when i took it off. Lol.

Those were the days when I would attend kindergarten at Holy Grace Kindergarten and was the teacher's pet. I was quite a princess back then where the chauffer would drive por por to pick me up from school daily. In the car, por por would bring cubes of cheese for me to nibble on. CALL ME PRINCESS MAN. lol

Afternoons naps lasted from around 2-3pm.
Thereafter, i would wake up to milk and some bread. Woo... hightea sia. Haha
Late afternoons were spent with neighbours. The kids used to come over to play 'masak masak' (cooking) with me. Sometimes, we would go out to the tar road and draw our own hopscotch (is the spelling right?) with chalks.

By the way, I was the only kid in the house as my cousins and sister were not born. Therefore, all the attention was on me. PRINCESS TIMES TWO.

Talking about my childhood friends... I have lost contact with (almost) all of them.
Some moved away, some became rather unfriendly. Gosh. It would be nice if we could still be as pally as we were back then. There would have been so much to reminisce about.
Hey, but I'm still in contact with this childhood friend of mine whom i used to drink milk (from a milkbottle) with. Haha. Denise. We've been in contact all these while and I'm so glad and proud that she's doing very well now.

Friends come and go. Especially in recent years, I've been having many HI-BYE friends. Acquaintences, you may call them. You introduce yourself to them for the first time knowing that it will probably be the last time you'll be having a conversation with them. This has inevitably made me cherish the dear friends around me more. Some friends, you know, are LIFELONG friends, FRIENDS FOR LIFE. They are there when you need them. Even when you don't need them, they are already on 'standby'. It doesn't take meeting everyday for good friends to remain as good friends. With special mention to my bestie, liwei, thanks for always being there. Cindy too. Appreciate it for always showering concern.Mun, not forgetting you.

Girls get emotional and sentimental now and then.
I guess I'm currently in the NOW and THEN.
